Article 17: The Darhad
Most people think of the term Shamanism as being a NA and SA belief system.
It is a Mongolian word that stems from the Mongolian, Siberian and Turkish practice known as Tengrism.
It is theorized that it migrated along with those who came across the Alaskan land bridge and morphed as it was adopted from tribe to tribe.
This pic is of one of the traditional Mongolian Shaman known as the Darhad. They are the warrior shaman or, "Black Shaman."
Their practice has existed for thousands of years in the remote regions.
When Genghis Khan wanted to unite the tribes of Mongolia he went alone to find the Darhad and ask that they bless his mission and stand with him.
He knew if he could win them over, the other tribes would have great respect for this accomplishment.
He managed to win them over and the rest is history, as they say.
A Persian general gives an account of the Darhad using their weather stones to bring down a blizzard upon his army in the summer months.
This is what badassery looks like.
