Article 30: Honouring The Dead
Spirits have been visiting me since I was a boy. I was told it was just my overactive imagination, or that they were just dreams.
It sure didn't feel that way.
I was eventually able to shut them out of my visual until I am ready to communicate. Learning to control that gift is a topic for another day.
As a shamnic practitioner and an energy healer, I have learned that there are many different types of spirits, but I won't get into that in this post. This one is focused on the human version.
Spirit is our true form. This human version of us is a temporary experience. It's like our spirits are on a crazy field trip designed to allow us to explore a physical existence for a short while.
We get to bomb around in magical meat suits with 5 incredible senses that we do not have back home in the spirit world.
Spirits look at us and think, "what I wouldn't give to take spin in a human body." We get caught up in being human and often forget how magical this experience really is.
When a loved one leaves this realm, we miss their physical presence tremendously. The sense of loss can become overwhelming.
The truth is that they never die. Spirits don't need food or a roof over their heads. They don't go to work 6 days a week to try and earn a paycheck. They don't keep track of time, because there is no such thing on the other side of the veil.
What seems like a lifetime in this realm seems like an instant on the other side.
Ask anyone who has had a near death experience about the collapse of time when we leave our body.
It feels as though my spirit is in a state of suspended animation while I run around in this body. When I get back home, this human experience will all seem like a dream to me.
I can tell you from my countless human spirit encounters on the other side of the veil, that our loved ones do not want us to grieve their departure from the physical.
They want us to live and breathe in every single moment that we are in this human fish bowl.
They know all the things that we have forgotten about the mechanics of life.
They are cheering us on. It is our job not to wear them down with our suffering, when we will see them in what will seem like a wink of an eye once our meat suit expires.
We honour the dead by living out time here with zest and zeal.
They feed off of our enthusiasm.
You don't need a medium to deliver a message to them on the other side. They see and feel us and hear everything we think.
Tell them you love them and that you will see them soon and then go do something to enrich your human experience.
They will feel that like a warm, energetic hug.
